All things Kustom since 2010

30-8-2019   –   01-09-2019

Whether it’s ‘Kustom Art’ or ‘Custom Art’ this show has it in abundance and our 10th ANNIVERSARY SHOW will be extra special.

With so many Kustom Kulture artists crossing over scenes from bikes & scooters to painted trucks, from bodies to fabrics & accessories, this show is packed full of vibe, colour and sheer visual delights to shock and admire, all rolled into a fantastic weekend of fun and eye-popping sights.  Now in it’s 10th year, this show is THE place to be to see, show and enjoy Kustom Art, Rolling Art & Lifestyle.  You can’t help but be inspired by the creativity. And guess what, you can even have a go yourself!

The Artists

Rarely has there been an event so perfectly designed to showcase the full spectrum of Kustom Art.  Kustom Kulture Blastoff is the perfect place to view & purchase creations / commissions and meet the Artists.  For an Artist, whatever medium you work on or in, where better  to exhibit and reach an enthusiastic and fully appreciative, truly international buying audience.

There is no better term than Rolling Art to categorise these vehicles. You have seen them on the road, at the rod run, bike & scooter rallies, VW meets, Truck Fest etc.

Owners invest in tricking out their ride to reflect their personality, with themes ranging from Hollywood Icons, to intricate designs and gold leaf work to cartoon and movie heroes.

New for 2019 we are pleased to introduce Scooterama at KKBO. Scooters form some of the finest examples of rolling art that exist, and we are looking forward to having them with us.  Also DDK Airbrush is touring this year and we are one of the stops on the 2019 tour, so this is definitely a scooter enthusiastic must see, the examples of his work are simply stunning.

We have a dedicated scooter village so you will be able to relax and chat with like minded souls.  For this year we have also introduced a secondary Music Cafe for the evenings with guest DJs playing the very best of Northern Soul, Ska & 60s/70s and we’ve even provided a small dance floor so you can do some shoe tapping! It’s sure to be the best entertainment you will find outside of a national scooter rally.

Whether you are bringing a show stopping custom to the show, or coming to view the spectacle and looking for inspiration from our attending airbrush artists and painters, we look forward to seeing you.

What started with one tattoo stand has now grown into an entity in it’s own right to keep pace with interest and demand.  Visitors return each year with a view to adding to their body art, is it time you started your collection?

Many of our attending artists are taking bookings for the show now, why not get inked while you are with us?

Jaw dropping – there is no other way to describe this art form.

Using a mixture of techniques including airbrush and traditional brush work, the results are just amazing.

Watch the artists and models over the weekend the results are simply incredible and not to be missed.

Not only is there plenty to see, Kustom Kulture Blastoff gives you the opportunity to experience, develop and learn.  You choose what suits you, a ‘Have a Go’ session, a Workshop, a chance to look glam & show off those outfits or maybe commission one of our artists for a unique piece of art on a vehicle, clothing or body.  We have dance lessons, both Stroll & Jive, not to mention a Dance Competition with a cash prize. Maybe that’s all too active and your choice is to just relax, enjoy the atmosphere and music and take part in some of the great tasting opportunities!

Trade Stands

KKBO brings you the most diverse collection of traders – kustom, quirky and interesting. The Kustom artists are prominent throughout the show, not only with displays but also original art and available for commissions. With this in mind we aim to bring a wide selection of paints, brushes, equipment and accessories.

Where better place to buy with experts on hand to give advice.  You will also find kustom lifestyle clothing, jewellery and accessories for you and quirky items & oddities for your home.  Take time to view the trader page and have an in-depth look at what will be on offer.

Our Club support continues to grow each year and we have dedicated camping display areas as well as club camping.

As a visitor this enables  you not only to see the displays but to chat and find out more.  We also have a group camping field for groups of over 8, to enable you to camp together.

Camping, Glamping & Nearby Accommodation

Friendly, Safe & Fun – an atmosphere that’s hard to beat.

We do have the option of electric in certain areas, but most of our campers love the back to basics atmosphere.   We welcome caravans, tents, vans, even sleep under the stars if you like, all we ask is that you consider others and are respectful.  The campsite is a fun, child friendly place with plenty of catching up with old friends and making new ones.  There are toilets & showers at various points, so never too far away. You will find in the day time the site opens up as the vehicles are driven down to main display field and there is nothing better to get up early in the morning to watch the guys & gals with their polishing cloths preparing for the show.  The passion for art & kustom is a common theme throughout the whole campground and really brings everyone together.

Camping not your thing? then next for 2019 we have the ‘Offsite Weekender’ which entitles you to come and go from Friday evening which means you don’t miss Party Night !

Live Bands & Entertainment

During the weekend we are entertained by our Resident DJ’s Rocking Steve & Steph (aka The Professor) & his guest DJs. Friday night is party night and 2019 brings The Blues Review Band back by popular demand.   The Main Marquee stays true to the 50’s, Rock & Roll and Rockabilly subcultures and Live bands appear over the weekend.  Saturday brings you the Body Painters strutting their stuff and let’s not forget the Burlesque.  For 2019 we also have ‘The Hangout’ and outside covered area with it’s own bar, where you can meet up with friends and family to relax.  We will have a guest DJ playing a mix of Northern Soul, Ska & 60s/70s each evening.  We also have the Glow-Off Friday night so make sure you bring those glow sticks!

Glam & Fashion

Whether you are into turned up jeans, leopard print, or simply trying to create your own unique or retro style, we aim to have all you need to create the look.   This starts on Friday afternoon when we have organised to have two hairdressers & a nail artist on hand to start the ‘glamming’ process. Look-out over the weekend for ‘The Dandy Gent’ for that proper shave, Natalie with her top tips on make-up and we have not one, but two hairdressers this year.  Still not got an outfit then visit one of the clothing traders, or if this inspires you to make your own we have Fabrique Creations with their fantastic range of fabrics.

We love to see you ‘dressed to impress’ so each show day we will have our ‘spotter’ out and about looking for the best dressed, adult & child category.  Want to see who we’ve spotted visit the ‘Fashionista Gallery’ in the Exhibition Hall.

The Food Court

Serious partying means you need to keep the tank topped up.

We have some of the best caterers on the site, meaning a variety of great foods are available throughout the weekend…. and don’t get us started on the amount of stock we bring for the bars.

We have a wide variety of food choices and everyone is now booked in, so please visit the Trader Page for more detail.  We try our best to keep the Food Court themed to the show and this year is no exception.  We have an Airstream Hot Dog stand, a Hot Rod BBQ, a VW Pop-Top and a Bus Stop queue and as if that’s not enough you will be buying your early morning coffee from a Customised Teardrop !  Our show is about kustom art & imagery and I’m sure we will find you taking photos of our caterers!

For The Children

We love to see children at our show and often find them standing open-mouthed at certain exhibits.  As you walk round you will find children at the barber’s, glamming with girls, having good old fashion fun on bikes and roasting marshmellows or maybe getting an airbrush or glitter tattoo or a face paint.  There are various competitions running over the weekend to keep the younger ones occupied from creating a cap to a treasure hunt.

For 2019 we are extending workshops to the children for Graffiti, Airbrush & Pinstriping so they can really see what it’s all about, for which we will be inviting booking in July.  We do ask you to be aware that we have adult entertainment and moving vehicles all weekend.

The Fridge Magnet Art Challenge

Buy your own minature Art Gallery!  Visitors return year on year to win another magnet and some have quite a collection.

Each year we issue 150 Magnetic Art Canvases just 10cm x 10cm (4″ x 4″) to artists around the globe. In turn these Artists create superb masterpieces on any subject which we then auction on behalf of our adopted Charity.  The collection will be displayed in full on the Art Wall at KKBO 2019 with bids being taken online & then at the show.   Winning bidders are announced at 3pm at the stand, however anyone not still present will be notified and the fridge magnet posted, although there will be a small charge for P&P.

Our adopted charity which benefits from the Fridge Magnet Art Challenge and Trader raffle donations throughout the show is Empowering children fighting cancer in the UK

Supershoes provide gifts to these incredible children and the gifts are hand painted customised canvas shoes – Hence the name Supershoes…! Kustom Kulture Blastoff is proud to support this Charity and it’s Artists which represent another way Art reaches out to people.
