From cheap transport in the post war era, scooters were adopted by the Modernist Culture of the 60’s where every self respecting Mod had to personalise his Lambretta or Vespa.

From those days, through the Skinheads of the 70’s, the Scooterboys of the 80’s and up to present, Scooters have always had a place in what is essentially a very British Sub Culture.

The Scooter Village

For our 10th Anniversary show we are introducing a dedicated scooter village.

As well as all of the other brilliant stuff going on at KKBO, we have a host of entertainment planned for you including a Scooter Custom show on Saturday, Live Music with guest Northern Soul DJ, Dukesy Armillei.  Filling a gap in the summer rally schedule, SCOOTERAMA is the event to be at in 2019.

We have been confirmed as a tour stop for the DDK Tour 2019, with already 6 top class scooters confirmed for the event with more to come!  If you’ve not seen the quality of the work these guys do, then  visit DDK Airbrushing .

DDK Tour 2019

Scooters took the art of customisation to a new level in the early 80’s. Pioneers like Jeremy Howlett and Russ Mitchell came up with ideas that changed the scene forever, while at the same time airbrush artists like John Spurgeon & Paul Karslake pushed the boundaries ever further with stunningly detailed artwork.

At the same time, engraving was taken to the level of high art on these machines, with the work of Don Blocksidge and the late Pete Robinson making us rethink what a high end custom was.

If those names take you back to those halcyon days, then this is the show for you, with a wealth of trophies to be won where better to show off the dedication that goes onto these Scooters.
